Meet Camilla

Hello, I’m Camilla! If you’d like to find out a little bit more about me, you’ve come to the right place!

Ever since I was a child, I’ve loved stories. My mum used to call me a book monster because I used to devour books in one single day. I don’t get as much time as I’d like to read these days, but I still love stories and they are at the heart of what I do, whether it is reading them, creating them or telling them through photography.

My dad bought me my first camera when I was 12 and I still remember it vividly. A little bright blue square that sat in the palm of my hand. It had about two buttons and saved images as bitmaps (I still have some of them!) It sparked a deep love of photography for me and although I don’t have that little blue camera anymore, I think about it from time to time, amazed at how such a small gesture turned into something that completely changed my life.

Being half Greek Cypriot, I went on my first visit to Cyprus in 2006 which was when I realised how much I really loved photography. I studied it at college alongside graphic design and loved every minute of it. However, I decided to pursue design for publishing at university for four years before working as a freelance graphic designer, designing a lot of specialist art books amongst other projects so photography took a backseat.

Everything changed when my then fiancé and I got a puppy in 2015. Realising if I didn’t document her life then, she’d grow up so quickly that I’d lose the chance, I pulled out the camera (I was a bit rusty!) but it was a lightbulb moment. I wasn’t happy doing the graphic design, so I took a huge (scary!) leap of faith to build up my career as a photographer. It’s been a crazy ride so far but I’ve loved every minute and wouldn’t change it for the world. The wonderful people I get to meet and getting the chance to tell their amazing stories through my lens is a real privilege.  I still get such a buzz from downloading the photos to see what I captured. I’m very lucky to have my dream job and that my work is taking me to so many exciting places around the world.

When I’m not taking photos, I’m spending time with my family and my husband Aaron in rural Norfolk. My little fur baby Mia (a shetland sheepdog) is almost surgically attached and I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my free time, I love doing dog agility or going for a walk on the beach with the dogs. When I’m not with my dog, you may find me out roller skating, playing my piano accordion or watching Marvel films - while eating chocolate of course (I may or may not have a slight obsession with chocolate)!

If you’re looking for something different from your wedding photography, you’ll find I’m very laid back with a relaxed and natural style. And if, like me, you love stories and are wanting your own story told in the most beautiful way then I’d love to hear from you. Send me an email and let’s meet for a chat!
